Bois Dormant by Houbigant c1925

Bois Dormant by Houbigant: created by Raymond Kling and Arturo Jordi-Pey, and launched in 1925. The name means "Sleeping Forest" but in some advertisements it is referred to as "Enchanted Woods".


Fragrance Composition:


So what does it smell like? It is a floral chypre perfume for women with distinct powdery amber and woody notes.
  • Top notes: pungent green accord, aldehydes, galbanum, bergamot, costus root oil
  • Middle notes: carnation, artemisia, rose, jasmine, geranium, spices
  • Base notes: vanilla, resins, ambergris, oakmoss, vetiver, civet, sandalwood

Fate of the Fragrance:

Discontinued, date unknown. Still being sold in the early 1940s.
